New ferry link makes Indonesian islands more accessible

Want to escape Bail for a few days?

A new ferry service was launched this week in Bali that will give tourists more options when it comes to island hopping around the region.

Sanur Ferries is the new shuttle service that will provide connections between the main island of Bali and island destinations including Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan.

The soft launch event was marked by the cutting of ribbons, the Bali Sun newspaper reported.

The new service to be operated by Sanur Ferries uses a two-deck vessel with a capacity of 150 seats. Travel fares will start at IDR 700,000 ($63) - so it definitely aimed at tourists.

The company is also set to open up more routes departing from Sanur Port Pier at Matahari Terbit Beach once final logistics planning has been completed.

“We put the emphasis on safety, comfort, professionalism, and passenger satisfaction in all our services," Sanur Ferries said in a statement. We offer easiness and safety at a reasonable price for your convenient journey to the islands of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan.”

The online booking platform is available in English and Bahasa Indonesia and allows tourists to book roundtrip journeys and one-way tickets. See https://www.sanurferries.co.id/en
