I visited Bucharest several decades ago and it was one of the bleakest, least appealing cities I have ever had the misfortune of spending time in. Hopefully it has changed.

But these flights are from London's Luton Airport to Brasov (above), "the gateway to Transylvania".

So calling all Dracula fans.

Wizz Air is launching a new low-fare Romania flights to the near airport in Brasov from August 2. Prices start from €25 (around $AUD41).

Tickets are available now on wizzair.com or via the airline’s mobile app and flights will operate three times per week.

Marion Geoffroy, the Wizz MD, said: “Brasov is the perfect destination to discover a new city filled with medieval architecture and picturesque views.”

Wizz will also launch flights from Dortmund in Germany to Brasov from September 2.
