New Zealand producer offers a "wine flight" with a difference
A New Zealand wine producer has launched its first "wine flight" with a difference - and the experience has already sold out.
Invivo, which makes wines in collaboration with celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker and Graham Norton, has unveiled what it says is "a unique experience for wine lovers".
The all-inclusive viticulture vacation on January 31 will take wine enthusiasts from Auckland to Queenstown for an overnight adventure.
Guests will board the Invivo Air Saab 340 plane and enjoy a guided eight-step wine tasting at 18,000ft.
To be led by Invivo co-founders Tim Lightbourne and Rob Cameron, the wines in the sky experience will see Kiwi snacks matched with with tasting pours from the Invivo and Graham Norton ranges.
A range of low and no-alcohol options will also be on offer and onboard entertainment will curated by Invivo co-founder Cameron, who is also lead guitarist of Kiwi band Razorback Road.
Two hours after take-off, Invivo Air will start making its descent into Queenstown before guests are transported to ‘Legend’s Terrace’ - one of Invivo’s oldest vineyards in Central Otago.
In the evening, attendees will enjoy a four-course winemakers’ dinner at Botswana Butchery in central Queenstown.
They will then stay overnight in lakeside rooms at the Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa on the shores of Lake Wakatipu before returning to Auckland.
The cost was NZ $1,149 per person. If you fancy a seat on a repeat flight see invivoair.com
