The Great Southern has to be one of the most remote wine regions in Australia; a full five-hour drive from the West Australian state capital of Perth.
That means at least an overnight stay for most wine lovers, and probably a couple of nights.
Upland Farm is a boutique eco-friendly farm stay located near the town of Denmark, home to several top-notch wine producers including Singlefile, Rockcliffe, Forest Hill and Harewood Estate.
Set in rolling hills on a 50-hectare working cattle farm, the property features three environmentally-conscious cabins clad in Iron Ash timber with large glazed windows from which to enjoy the panoramic views, the people at Tourism Western Australia advise.
The three cabins all have their own unique qualities. Choose from a guest house featuring a master king bedroom with en suite bathroom; a king or twin single room with adjacent bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen; and two recently completed luxury cabins with king bedrooms with en suites and a ploughman-style kitchenette.
The deep cattle trough baths are an iconic piece of the new cabins.
The property is located just a fifteen-minute drive from the town of Denmark.
