Wine business giant Accolade Wines has unveiled details of a multi-million-dollar project in the Barossa Valley that will offer premium multi-brand cellar door experiences.
Set to launch late 2022, the tourism landmark will showcase case wines from three South Australian brands owned by Accolade: Grant Burge, Rolf Binder and St Hallett, on a site adjacent to the current St Hallett facility.
The purpose-built space will span over 600sq metres and will be built adjacent to the existing heritage cellar, working winery and landscaped grounds.
The new site will also feature a restaurant and functions facility, along with the cellar door and tasting room, says national cellar door manager Andrew McDowell. .
“Putting the customer experience to the forefront of our thinking has driven this project," says McDowell. "We have spent a lot of time getting the concept right, making sure we are enhancing the site, while protecting the heritage and history - to create a true destination for these three celebrated wine brands.”
Accolade Wines has been working with architectural group studio-gram on the designs.
"They understand the needs and function of a venue," says McDowell. "They design in a way to mitigate issues, and in this instance have channelled the Australian hues and landscape, to create a bespoke space with a unique personality."
McDowell says the aim will be to ensure the gastronomic experience is a premium offering in a relaxed atmosphere.
“We will be inviting leading operators from around the country to partner with us in this exciting opportunity,” he said.
The project is currently being assessed by The Barossa Council for planning approval.
The project will be built at 24 St Hallett Road, Tanunda.
