There can be few winemakers with a greater knowledge of riesling in Australia than Keeda Zilm.
Zilm spent 15 years working at O'Leary Walker, one of the Clare Valley's leading riesling producers - and then worked alongside John Vickery, the veteran guru when it comes to riesling production.
Zilm is now a member of the team at the Usual Suspects Wine Collective, headed by Jonathon Hesketh, and is launching her own Miss Zilm wines to the Australian wine buying public.
Zilm has also worked vintages at Domaine Dubois in Burgundy and at Elk Cove in Oregon.
The new-release Miss Zilm wines are: a 2021 Clare Valley Riesling from Watervale and a 2021 Fiano from just down the road in Auburn.
Both wines are impeccably balanced, dry, bright and vibrant. They retail for around $28 - that's summer appeal and value taken care of.
"After making wine in Clare for almost two decades, these wines are my personal project," she says. "I've selected the best parcels of fruit to showcase the regional and varietal flavours in their purest form."
Purity and place are Zilm’s two watchwords: and her advice to wine drinkers is simplicity itself: Enjoy these wines chilled with friends.
