Vietnam, which plans a full nationwide reopening of tourism next year, will open select destinations to foreign tourists in December.
The plan includes the lovely east coast destinations of Hoi An, Nha Trang and UNESCO World Heritage site Halong Bay.
Access would be restricted to vaccinated travellers from low-risk Covid-19 countries, the Vietnamese Government said in a statement this week.

Vietnam received 18 million tourist arrivals in 2019 and tourism revenue that year was around 10% of GDP.
Tourist arrivals plunged to just 3.8 million in 2020.
The bad news is that currently only 13% of the Vietnamese population has been vaccinated, which makes it a high-risk destination.
The Vietnamese Government is also resuming some domestic flights from Sunday, VGP News, the Vietnamese Government’s online newspaper reported.
Most of these fights will be to or from Ho Chi Minh City and only individuals who are fully vaccinated or have recovered from Covid-19 will be allowed to board.
