Crowne Plaza hotel brand returns to Sydney after 10-year absence

Downtown Sydney once again has a Crowne Plaza hotel with this week's opening in a new Darling Harbour location after a 10-year absence.

The 13-storey, 152-room Crowne Plaza Darling Harbour sees each room divided into four zones with floor-to-ceiling windows a feature in all.

Each of the guestrooms are divided into four distinct zones – a desk space for work, a sofa area to unwind, king-size beds and well-lit, spacious bathrooms with Antipodes amenities.

Rooms are aimed at supporting business travellers and features include USB outlets and charging stations, high speed wifi, televisions with Chromecast, along with an aromatherapy spray.

Guest facilities include a rooftop heated pool, fitness centre and three food and beverage outlets including La Bella Trattoria and Bar (which will not open until the new year) and the Two88 Bar and Kitchen, which will open six days a week.

On the ground floor, guests and visitors can also access the CafĂ© 58 for a selection of grab-and-go options.

"Globally we are completely transforming the brand as we build hotels of the future with flexible design and innovation that modern travellers crave,” said IHG regional managing director Leanne Harwood.
