Staid Adelaide to welcome a hip new hotel

Adelaide is to get a new luxury hotel as part of its casino complex revamp.

Scheduled to open in late 2020, Eos by SkyCity will be a 120-room hotel with two new restaurant, bars and a spa and wellness centre.

The new hotel will occupy 12-storeys with all rooms overlooking either Adelaide Oval or the Torrens River. There will be event space for up to 650 delegates.

Rooms will feature keyless entry, in-room digital concierge tablet and 65-inch 4K HD television. Guests will be able to make use of bespoke experiences including an in-room mixologist who will be able to serve curated cocktails.

SkyCity Entertainment Group general manager for hotels, Brad Burnett, said Eos by SkyCity will be the fourth segment in the company’s growing hotel portfolio which currently consists of properties in Auckland, Hamilton and Queenstown in New Zealand.

“Eos by SkyCity will set the benchmark for how we provide experiences and entertainment that excite our guests, and we hope to play a key role in bringing visitors back to South Australia when it is safe to travel once again," he said.

Eos by SkyCity Adelaide general manager Jodi Brown says the name Eos has even more significance following a difficult period for hotel, hospitality and tourism operators.

Named for the Greek Goddess of Dawn, Eos is a symbol of hope and optimism.

SkyCity Adelaide general manager David Christian said the new hotel and world-class entertainment precinct was taking shape.

“We are looking forward to working with the wider tourism industry to shine a light on South Australia as a destination and play our part in attracting visitors back to our state when the tourism industry begins to recover,” he said.

  1. Nice post with great information. It seems a luxurious hotel. Melbourne has a lot of hotels which provide a range of choice, great prices and excellent service.
