A new way to travel from Melbourne to Asia

There is a new way to fly from Melbourne to Denpasar, Bali, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Malindo Air, a joint Malaysian-Indonesian enterprise, now operates daily direct flights from Melbourne to Denpasar - and daily flights from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur via Denpasar.

Malindo offers competitive fares with premium inclusions as standard, so no paying extra for meals and baggage.

The airline offers a roomy, 32-inch seat pitch in economy class as well as in-flight entertainment and baggage as standard with value and flexi fares.

“With a network of more than 57 routes across Australasia, South-East Asia, Indochina, China and the subcontinent, we can confidently say Malindo Air is a smarter way to travel to Bali and KL," said Ramdas Shivram, Malindo Air’s senior general manager of business development and compliances.

"Our direct flights and premium inclusions have been a well-kept secret for those in-the-know and now that we have officially launched the "in-the-know" campaign in Melbourne, we’re pleased to be providing greater ease, comfort and connectivity for Melburnians travelling."

The new routes are supported by Melbourne Airport.

“There’s no denying that Australians, particularly Melburnians, consider Bali and KL as an unofficial extension of their ‘domestic’ holiday destinations," said Ted Knight, head of commercial aviation at Melbourne Airport.

MasterChef Australia 2017 winner, food writer and chef, Malaysian-born, Melbourne local Diana Chan is the Melbourne-Kuala Lumpur route ambassador.

The premium international airline based out of Petaling Jaya, Selangor, in Malaysia has been in operation since March 2013. With over 1,400 weekly flights throughout Malaysia, its routes spread across Indonesia, Thailand, Bangladesh and India to China, Singapore, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Australia.
