The Family of Twelve's Winter Feast tour will feature a winter feast prepared by award-winning executive chef Ben Batterbury in True South Dining Room paired with 12 Kiwi wines from eight different regions.
At the end of the night curl up in front of the fireplace in the comfort of your cosy room at The Rees Hotel; enjoy panoramic views of Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables mountain range and a full-cooked breakfast the next morning.
The June 14 dinner will be hosted by Blair Walter of Felton Road, Paul Donaldson of Pegasus Bay and Mark Rose, the wine-loving CEO of The Rees Hotel.
Family chair Paul Donaldson of Pegasus Bay says the dinners are a celebration of Kiwi excellence. “We’re really looking forward to sharing some specially chosen bottles from family cellars over stimulating conversation," he said.
"What a brilliant way to spend a winter’s evening. With the wine and food worlds so intertwined we’re thrilled to work with a group of such dedicated restaurateurs and chefs; reaching out to share our work with wine lovers at some of our favourite eating places. We promise a fabulous experience, maybe we’ll even share a few family secrets.”
The event kicks off at 6:30pm with a welcome drink in Bordeau Wine Lounge, followed by 12 wines and five hero dishes from 7pm. Tickets are $NZ175 per person.
The accommodation package for $NZ355 per person includes a one-night stay in a lake view room; Two tickets to dinner and breakfast for two. Additional nights are $NZ355.00 per room with upgrades available.
Wines will be served from the following wineries: Kumeu River, Villa Maria, Millton Vineyards, Craggy Range, Ata Rangi, Palliser Estate, Neudorf Vineyards, Fromm Winery, Lawson’s Dry Hills, Nautilus Estate, Pegasus Bay Winery and Felton Road
