British chef superstar Jason Atherton's casual Kensington Street Social impressed me hugely on a recent visit and now Sydneysiders are being invited to enjoy Social Sundays at the venue through summer.
The Sunday sessions will celebrate food, wine and music at hipster heaven The Old Clare.
Start with brunch or lunch (there are new a la carte menus) at Kensington Street Social; enjoy a glass or two of frosé ($16) or settle in with the bottomless sparkling offering ($35 a head).
Dishes on offer on Sundays include: the trademark Social ‘dog’: pork and fennel sausage, green apple, black pudding, cheddar and mustard; hot-smoked salmon, fennel, broccolini, feta, baby capers on sourdough flatbread; breakfast rice with slow-cooked hen’s egg, shiitake mushroom, pork belly, bacon dashi; lamb rump, bacon, borlotti bean ragout, broad beans and pea tendrils; and warm poached rhubarb, berries, rosemary, spelt granola.
From 4pm, guests can move into The Clare Bar and enjoy live music and drinks for the rest of the afternoon.
