Special Hunter Valley deals for winter

Winter is arguably the best time to visit the Hunter Valley; it is less crowded and more affordable.

Throughout the month of June, the Hunter Resort is hosting a series of "By the Fireside" winemaker dinners at a special price of just $99 per person (a 20% saving).

The winemakers will discuss the remarkable 2014 shiraz vintage, and the recently concluded 2016 vintage as part of an intimate experience.

The list of winemakers is: June 10, Bruce Tyrrell, Tyrrell's Wines. June 17, Lisa McGuigan, Lisa McGuigan Wines. June 24: Ian Napier, Wombat Crossing Vineyard.

To coincide with the dinners, the Hunter Valley Resort is also offering a winter special deal on accommodation; $299 for two nights midweek, including breakfast, a bottle of Hele Wine or a beer tasting paddle daily, entry to the wine theatre, a two-hour wine school experience and a 20% discount for a Heavenly Hunter massage, Segway or horseriding experience.

The offer is valid for stays until November 30, 2016.

The Hunter Valley Resort is set on its own vineyard and has 35 rooms featuring exposed timber cathedral ceilings and solid country style timber furniture. The resort overlooks the surrounding countryside, vineyards and the Brokenback Ranges.
