Vanuatu resort hotel re-opens after 15 months

When a hotel has been closed for 15 months due to damage caused by a tropical cyclone you know it wasn't just a few trees that blew down.

When the Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu reopens its doors on June 1 it will have undergone a transformation - what has been described as "a major revitalisation and restoration program" - after being badly damaged by Tropical Cyclone Pam.

Located just minutes from Port Villa town, the resort is a beautiful haven (as the pictures show), with exclusive lagoon frontage. The resort's family-style accommodation and over-water villas make the most of the tropical ambiance and Melanesian flavour of Vanuatu, the former New Hebrides.

Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu boasts 148 guest rooms, including 10 over-water villas on a private island which are designed for weddings, families and groups. The spectacular photos encouraged me to post this item.

Notice to loved-up couples wanting to get away from noise and kids: Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu is described as "kid-centric" and children are expressly catered for.

The resort's assets include two pool areas, tennis court and a nine-hole pitch-and-putt golf course, Kids' club, spa, Verandah Restaurant and Lobby Bar, Pool Bar with wood-fired pizza oven and complimentary use of non-motorised water sports; kayaks and catamarans.
