Huka Lodge, at Lake Taupo in New Zealand, is among the most memorable of luxury experiences.
The setting is sublime, with suites overlooking the bubbling river and the Huka Falls.
The service, as you'd expect from the pioneer of New Zealand's luxury lodges, is top-notch, the food from chef Paul Froggatt renowned. Everything is elegant, refined and relaxed.
I've even seen Huka Lodge described as "the finest hotel in the world".
