A gourmet treat in the Tasmanian wilderness

There are few more beautiful venues in Tasmania that Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge, a regular host of food and wine events.

The next off the block is the “The Winemaker, the Local Grower & You” event to be hosted by Josef Chromy Wines on September 13.
Winemakers from the Chromy team (Chromy is one of the best producers in the state) will hold a tasting matched to local cuisine from the Highland Restaurant team of chef Jee Whan Lee.

“We have forged some great relationships with the diverse array of food and wine producers in the region and we are looking forward to showcasing Josef Chromy wines with the excellent food that our Highland team creates,” said GM Leigh Reid.

The event is part of the Peppers Gourmet Food Trail program – a range of events, packages and offerings that celebrate regional food and wine at over 20 Peppers retreats and resorts across Australia’s east coast and in New Zealand.

An event package is on offer which includes the five-course dinner with matched Josef Chromy wines; one night’s accommodation in a Pencil Pine Cabin; welcome chocolate plate and breakfast for two people from $499 per couple.

Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge is set at the entrance to the spectacular World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park and is just over an hour’s drive from Devonport or two hours from Launceston. It offers one of Australia’s most iconic wilderness experiences.
